About Church Builders
Baptist Church Builders of Texas (Church Builders for short) is a group of Christians, who, by God’s leading, go together each summer and construct one church building for a needy church somewhere in the United States. We do other smaller projects throughout the year.
We are geared to start from the slab up. We raise the walls, set the trusses, deck and put on felt/shingles, put on the exterior siding or get it ready for brick, install windows/doors, install the soffit and fascia, do electrical wiring, help with the duct work for air conditioning, build the platform/baptistery/choir loft, build cabinets, and we even insulate, sheetrock, bed and tape, and even paint in a few cases.
We DO NOT GUARANTEE any stage of work to be done, we only offer five days of work by our Main Crew, whatever size that turns out to be. We cannot be responsible for weather delays, material shortage, inspections, or things not being ready when we arrive.
We are not all Baptist or Texans! Our volunteers comprise several Christian denominations, and they travel from all over the U.S. to work each summer ... even from Guatemala!
Our main crew works the 3rd full week in July. An early crew will arrive the week before, usually Thursday, to lay out walls, build corners and tees, and make sure the materials and equipment are on site.
On Sunday Evening, we kick off the week at MEET YOU ON THE SLAB at 6 PM. This is a time of inspiration and instructions led by Church Builders.
Work begins at 7AM each morning with a devotional. Do NOT miss the raising of the first wall on Monday morning!
The kitchen crew begins with a 9AM devotional each day at the meal location. Two home-cooked meals are prepared each day, a monumental task!
